In the position below we are a step further away in that White can capture the Queen safely because Black dare not remove the guard (blocker) of g7.

If you haven't seen this standard routine before it is well worth playing through and enjoying, it is sometimes known as "The Mill." On the two Black moves marked with * (moves5 & 7) he could play Rf6 blocking the check, but that would merely hasten defeat - try it!
